Director General of the Dehiwala National Zoo, Dr. R.C. Rajapaksa, stated that a complaint has been lodged with the Dehiwala Police regarding the theft of 32 pigeons from the Dehiwala National Zoo. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
According to Dr. Rajapaksa, the theft occurred on the night of the 4th. He further explained that the pigeons had been stolen after breaking into a cage where the animals were being kept. These pigeons were case materials held under a court order at the Dehiwala Zoo.
The Dehiwala Police said that no information has yet been uncovered regarding the theft or the whereabouts of the stolen pigeons. However, the police confirmed that a special investigation has been launched into the incident.
