According to sources close to the President’s office, a cabinet of 30 people will be chosen as soon as President Ranil Wickremesinghe finishes negotiating an all-party government.

Negotiations between the political parties representing Parliament and the President are expected to be completed within the next two weeks, and the new cabinet will be announced.

Furthermore, everyone is aware that a final decision will be made regarding the ministerial positions that will be assigned to each side in these talks.

According to reports, 18 people have been appointed to ministerial positions, and 12 more will be appointed after the ongoing discussions.

According to reliable sources, several members of the Samagi Janabalawega, led by opposition leader Sajith Premadasa, will be appointed to the cabinet.

It is also known that it has been proposed to give all ministers only a ministerial salary and a vehicle, and to reduce allowances.

It is also reported that ministerial positions will be assigned based on proposals received from the parties that support the President in running the government.
