Thirteen underworld figures and large-scale drug traffickers arrested in foreign countries are set to be brought back to Sri Lanka soon, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Attorney-at-Law Priyantha Weerasuriya said.
According to the IGP, these suspects were apprehended through investigations and raids carried out by the Sri Lanka Police in collaboration with international law enforcement agencies over the recent period.
Mr. Priyantha Weerasuriya further stated that within less than a year, thirty-two (32) of the country’s most notorious criminals who had been hiding overseas were successfully brought back to Sri Lanka.
Police also said that among the most notorious criminals expected to be repatriated to Sri Lanka in the coming days are Konda Ranji, Paravi Suda, Batuwatte Chamara, Wanathe Loku Malli, and several others.
