Honouring Excellence in 5S, Kaizen, and CSR Sustainability

The Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) announced the launch of the prestigious JASTECA Awards 2025, reaffirming its commitment to recognizing Sri Lanka’s top-performing organizations in 5S, Kaizen, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices.

Since its inception, JASTECA has been a pioneer in advancing workplace excellence, operational efficiency, and sustainability. This year’s event marks the beginning of another chapter in recognizing businesses that successfully integrate Japanese management philosophies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Expressing his thoughts, Mr. Mangala Samarajeewa, President of JASTECA said, “A JASTECA Award is more than just an accolade – it is a mark of excellence, offering organizations enhanced industry recognition, improved stakeholder confidence, and a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Participants will also benefit from benchmarking opportunities and employee engagement. The recognition serves not only as a validation of current success but also as a catalyst for future growth,”

The focus of the JASTECA Awards 2025 is to elevate industry standards by encouraging organizations to adopt Advanced 5S methodologies, broaden participation by attracting a diverse range of companies across industries, and refine evaluation criteria for excellence. Additionally, the Awards will place greater emphasis on expanding expert-led training sessions and strengthening awareness of 5S benefits and its impact on business efficiency and productivity.

The Awards ceremony, which is set to take place in September this year, will feature three key award categories:

  • Taiki Akimoto 5S Awards 2025 – Honoring organizations that have successfully implemented the 5S methodology to enhance workplace productivity and efficiency.
  • Nagaaki Yamamoto Kaizen Awards 2025 – Recognizing continuous improvement initiatives that drive innovation and business growth.
  • CSR Sustainability Awards 2025 – Highlighting companies that demonstrate excellence in social and environmental responsibility.

The Awards will be presented in Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Merit categories, with separate distinctions for Large, Medium, Small, and Micro enterprises. Organizations with the highest score in the Large Category will be recognized as the Overall Winner of JASTECA Awards 2025.

“Over the years the JASTECA Awards have served as a benchmark for excellence, inspiring organizations to adopt world-class methodologies that enhance productivity and sustainability.  With the 2025 edition, we continue our mission to recognize and inspire businesses that uphold the highest standards of operational excellence,” said Mr. Nirosh De Silva, Senior Vice President and 2025 Award Committee Chairman of JASTECA.

Applications for the JASTECA Awards 2025 are now open and can be submitted via the official JASTECA website: https://jasteca.org/. The deadline for submissions is set for March 25, 2025. The rigorous selection process will include preliminary assessments, shortlisting, and final evaluations conducted by industry experts.
