The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka is organizing bilateral trade & investment discussion between Sri Lanka & South Africa on Thursday, 20 July 2023 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon the National Chamber Auditorium, No. 450, D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10. High Commissioner of South Africa to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Sandile Edwin Schalk will be the Special Guest Speaker and the session will be assisted by Commercial Counsellor.
Further, Sri Lankan High Commissioner in South Africa His Excellency Gamini Gunawardane is also expected to connect virtually during the event to greet the gathering & to speak briefly.
The participants will get an opportunity to have a close dialogue with the High Commissioner of South Africa.
The overall purpose of this meeting is to discuss on the current trade environment, investment opportunities/ services, policies and other important information with the view to promote and strengthen bilateral trade and investment between Sri Lanka and South Africa.
Sri Lanka’s Main Exports to South Africa:
Tea, apparel, retreaded or used pneumatic tyres, activated carbon, other vegetable textile fibres, crepe rubber, other articles of vulcanized rubber, articles of apparel and clothing, new pneumatic tyres of rubber etc.
Sri Lanka’s Main Imports from South Africa
Bituminous coal, iron and steel; articles of iron and steel, diamonds, organic chemicals, copper, plants and parts of plants, beverages, spirits and vinegar, seeds, fruit and spores, maize, oranges fresh etc.
