People’s Bank Shines at Women Friendly Workplace Awards 2025

People’s Bank has once again been recognised as one of Sri Lanka’s most outstanding women-friendly workplaces at the Satynmag Women Friendly Workplace Awards 2025. The award ceremony was held recently at Amari Colombo.

This marks the fifth consecutive year the Bank has received this prestigious honour, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to fostering gender equality and inclusion. The recognition reflects People’s Bank’s best practices in promoting gender inclusion, leadership development, mentorship opportunities, and ensuring a safe and supportive work environment. With women representing over 60% of its workforce, People’s Bank continues to empower female employees across all sectors of banking.

This achievement further strengthens People’s Bank’s leadership role in driving positive change and shaping a more inclusive corporate culture in Sri Lanka.

Representing People’s Bank at the ceremony were Chief Executive Officer/General Manager, Clive Fonseka; Deputy General Manager – Payments & Cards / Strategic Planning, Performance Management and Research (Acting), Nilmini Premalal; Deputy General Manager (Human Resources), Manjula Dissanayake; Deputy General Manager – Retail Banking and Overseas Customer Services, Aruni Liyanagunawardana; and Assistant General Manager (Human Resources), Amalka Ranasinghe.

Since 2021, the Satynmag Women Friendly Workplace Awards have emerged as one of Sri Lanka’s most impactful platforms honouring gender equity in the workplace. It serves as a platform for organisations to showcase their commitment to building inclusive, empowering, and forward-thinking work environments for women.
