Half-Day Seminar on Capital Gains Tax (CGT) & Advance Personal Income Tax (APIT): What You Need to Know

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will be hosting a half-day seminar on Capital Gains Tax (CGT) & Advance Personal Income Tax (APIT) on Thursday, 26 March 2026, from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at the National Chamber Auditorium, Colombo 10. The Seminar will be conducted in both Sinhala and English mixed.

This seminar is designed to business owners, finance managers, Accountants, HR executives handling payroll, SME owners and Professionals and individuals interested in tax compliance with a practical understanding of the Sri Lankan tax framework, capital gains tax obligations, and advance personal income tax responsibilities. 

Key Areas Covered: Capital Gains Tax (CGT): scope, applicable assets, exemptions, and calculation methods, Advance Personal Income Tax (APIT): process of obtaining TIN and filling returns, obligations for employers and employees, Understanding tax responsibilities for businesses and professionals and Practical examples and case discussions. An interactive Q&A session will allow participants to clarify practical issues directly with the experts. 

The Resource Persons will be Mr. Nandana Kumara – Commissioner of Inland Revenue Department, Mr. Hasitha Raddella – Partner, Tax & Regulatory of KPMG in Sri Lanka and Mr. Indika Jayathilake – Chief Valuation Officer / Managing Director of IJVR Associates Pvt Ltd.
