A group of lawyers, together with members of several human rights organizations, have lodged a complaint with the Human Rights Commission, alleging that the breakdown of communication across the country during the ongoing disaster situation has resulted in a violation of the people’s fundamental human rights. Speaking at the occasion, lawyer Susantha Gunasekara stated that many human lives have been lost due to the communication failures experienced during the disaster situation.
