According to information received by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Anuradhapura Police Division, two individuals — including the principal of a main school in the Eppawala area — were arrested yesterday (04) with one kilogram and twenty grams of heroin found hidden in a hotel located in the Eppawala–Tedagala area, Sri Lanka Latest News.
It has been reported that the wife of the arrested principal is a National People’s Power MP representing the Peliyagoda Local Government area.
Police stated that the arrested suspects, aged 54 and 22, are residents of the same area.
Authorities further revealed that the suspects have been involved in drug trafficking for a long time, and the Anuradhapura Police are continuing further investigations into the incident.
