In a heartwarming moment ahead of a landmark sporting event, the Indian Women’s Cricket Team for the Blind met with Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya , as they gear up for the inaugural Women’s T20 World Cup – Cricket for the Blind.

Prime Minister Amarasuriya greeted the players with warmth and admiration, calling them “trailblazers who have redefined the spirit of cricket.” She praised the athletes not just for their talent on the field, but for their courage to challenge barriers and inspire young women everywhere.

The players, brimming with excitement, shared their dreams of representing their country at the first-ever World Cup of its kind. Many spoke of the struggles they had faced in their journey into competitive sport, and the pride they now feel as ambassadors of both women’s cricket and the blind community.

“This tournament is more than just a competition,” the Prime Minister noted. “It is about equality, courage, and friendship. These women are showing us that determination can overcome any challenge.”

As the World Cup approaches, both teams and fans look forward not only to exciting cricket, but also to a celebration of human spirit and solidarity across borders.
