The Colombo Commercial High Court has ordered a public auction of three companies reportedly owned by former Minister Daya Gamage, in an effort to recover a financial debt owed to People’s Leasing and Finance Company.
According to an official announcement by the Registrar and Deputy Fiscal of the Colombo Commercial High Court, the auction is scheduled to take place on July 2 at 10:00 AM.
The court has mandated the auction of the three institutions to recover Rs. 104,229,342, which remains unpaid out of a total outstanding amount of Rs. 108,309,342. The respondents have already paid approximately Rs. 4,080,000 towards the debt.
This action follows a judgment issued on November 10, 2022, directing the recovery of the remaining dues through the public sale of assets.
The three companies set to be auctioned are:
- Daya Group Limited
- Daya Apparel Exporter (Private) Limited
- Olympus Construction Private Limited
