Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, who also serves as the Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Training, has expressed deep concern over the increasing number of child abuse cases reported within schools.
Speaking at a special program held yesterday (27) at the Ministry of Education to raise awareness among school principals in the Colombo District, the Prime Minister stressed that further acts of violence against school children must not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Dr. Amarasuriya urged school principals to take immediate and decisive action whenever such incidents are reported, emphasizing the critical role of school leadership in ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
