The daughter of Dr. Shafi Shihabdeen, who was forced to leave the school she had attended since childhood following a baseless and extremely horrific accusation, has achieved outstanding results at this year’s GCE Advanced Level examination. It is reported that she has secured the opportunity to enter the medical faculty of a government university in Sri Lanka.
She had also excelled at the GCE Ordinary Level examination, earning excellent awards in all subjects she faced.
Dr. Shafi Shihabdeen had been accused by politicians including Udaya Gammanpila, Wimal Weerawansa, Atha-Uraliye Rathana, and Channa Jayasumana of performing alleged “torture surgeries” targeting Sinhala mothers. As a result, Dr. Shafi’s family and close associates had to endure immense pain and hardship.
