US Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Julie Chang, visited the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) headquarters this morning (14).
Arriving at approximately 10:00 AM, Ambassador Chang remained at the office for over an hour and a half. During her visit, she held discussions with SLPP’s National Organizer and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa.
One of the key topics of discussion was the USAID funds, which have been a subject of controversy in recent days. In addition, several political matters were also deliberated.
This marks the first time that Ambassador Chang has visited the SLPP headquarters. Her visit was arranged following a request to engage with the party.
On this occasion, SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam, along with former Members of Parliament Sanjeewa Edirimanne, C.B. Ratnayake, Jayantha Ketagoda, and current MP D.V. Chanaka, also participated in discussions.
