Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has reportedly decided to vacate his official residence after President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s contentious statement regarding the assessment of the residence and a potential rent payment notification.
The decision was reportedly announced by Mahinda Rajapaksa during a special meeting held with members of the Rajapaksa family, following the President’s remarks.
Sources indicate that the former President plans to formally notify the government in writing about his response to the statement made by the President in Kalutara yesterday.
