The landowner has filed a complaint with the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Galle District, alleging that the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Neluwa Police Division unlawfully entered his two-acre property near the proposed Dellawa Reserve in Galle on the 7th. The complaint states that the OIC uprooted, set fire to, and destroyed the tea plantation on the land, and has since been threatening the landowner by phone to vacate the property.
The landowner asserts that the tea plantation is part of an estate he inherited from his father.
