Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith Cardinal has revealed that he has received two reports from the committee appointed by the previous government to investigate the Easter Sunday attacks.
However, the Cardinal noted that the reports contained the same recommendations as those made by the previous Presidential Commission, with only two additional recommendations. He expressed concern that these recommendations called for the punishment of two high-ranking officials in the current government, suggesting that the reports had been crafted to serve the political interests of each government in power.
The Archbishop strongly condemned this approach, stating that it is unacceptable. He emphasized that he is awaiting an impartial and fair investigation from the current president and is closely monitoring the situation.
