Sri Lankan racing sensation Yvan David made history by clinching victory in the 8th round of the Euro Formula Open Championship in Italy.

This marks the first time a Sri Lankan driver has competed in a major Formula 3 (F3) championship, a significant milestone for the country’s motorsport scene.

Yvan, just 17 years old, took part in the 8th round of the prestigious event held at the Monza Circuit in Italy. Despite his youth and relative inexperience compared to his competitors, he earned widespread praise from commentators for his impressive performance right from the start.

Representing the renowned German Motopark team, Yvan David completed the 16-lap race at Monza in 30 minutes and 13 seconds, securing a well-deserved victory.

This remarkable achievement stands as one of the most significant wins in the history of Sri Lankan motor racing, highlighting Yvan’s talent and potential on the international stage.
