In a series of recent operations, nearly 460 Chinese nationals have been arrested over the past few days, according to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The CID has launched special investigations into the activities of the arrested individuals. Initial findings indicate that the suspects entered Sri Lanka on tourist visas. However, authorities are also probing potential violations of the Immigration Regulation Act, focusing on whether they were engaged in unauthorized employment during their stay.
The arrests took place in multiple locations across the country, including Kandy, Athulkotte, Pallekele, and Nattaranpotha.
