Albert Einstein once said, “Peace cannot be kept by force, it can only be kept by understanding.”

An initiative that took center stage at the Lionel Wendt Arts Center recently.

Haasinee Halpe Andree together with her choirs, Choral Spectrum and Petite Chorale intended to portray precisely that with ‘PEACE – සාමය – சமாதானம்’, a musical concert which took place on Sunday, 14th August 2022, at the Lionel Wendt Arts Center. The evening included collaborative efforts by like-minded professionals as well as amateurs of various backgrounds in an initiative to bridging peace between the Muslim and Catholic communities, in memory of the Easter Sunday attacks of April 2019. The sole reason being to raise funds for two causes that require our undiminished attention as a nation.

After decades of discrimination causing an improportionate lack of opportunity, inequality, and disharmony, Haasinee Halpe Andree chose the medical aid for the surviving children of the Easter attacks, in collaboration with Seth Sarana Caritas, as well as Golden Path Mother’s Hostel, a Special Needs Elders Home in Ratmalana to be equally contributed towards after the cost of producing the concert.

The donation portals are open throughout the 14th of September 2022. All our patrons and kind souls come forward. Help out with a noble gesture in solidifying a valiant effort.
