According to Sri Lanka Latest News, a faction of Pohottu party ministers has pledged covert backing for Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe’s bid for Pohottu leadership. Moreover, they have indicated readiness to support a Pohottu candidate if Mr Wickramasinghe secretly enters the race.
This brings the tally of Pohottu Ministers supporting both factions to 43, including three ministers, 13 state ministers, and 27 MPs. Media reports suggest that these individuals have faced significant criticism from party leaders following the disclosure of their dual support commitment.
