Former Presidential Candidate’s Termite-Damaged Millions Replaced with New Notes Amid Controversy
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A reliable source has revealed that a former presidential candidate secretly stored US dollars equivalent to 25 crore rupees in Sri Lankan currency, received from local and foreign donors during a previous presidential election. Termites destroyed these funds.

According to the report, the former candidate recently received new dollar notes through the intervention of a prominent figure, who acted upon the candidate’s request to replace the termite-eaten notes. This notable figure reportedly assisted the former candidate in gaining support for the upcoming presidential election.

The dollars were initially received by the candidate from donors following a court proceeding during the last presidential election. When the cash safe containing these dollars was recently inspected, it was discovered that termites had destroyed the notes. Consequently, the candidate sought the prominent figure’s help to exchange the damaged dollars for new ones.

This incident involving the former presidential candidate and termite-damaged dollars has recently been widely discussed in political circles.
