IMF staff are scheduled to visit Colombo during August 24-31 to continue discussions with the Sri Lankan authorities on economic and financial reforms and policies.
The aim is to make progress towards reaching a staff-level agreement on an IMF Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme.
As Sri Lanka’s public debt has been assessed as unsustainable, IMF Executive Board approval of the EFF program requires adequate assurances from Sri Lanka’s creditors that debt sustainability will be restored.
The team is led by Mr. Peter Brewer and Mr. Masahiro Nozaki.
