Ranjan Jayalal, General Secretary of Ceylon Electricity Workers Union, said that 5000 Electricity Board employees are going to hold a special discussion tonight through Zoom technology and if the Electricity Board employees are subjected to this kind of repression, all the employees have agreed to resign at the same time. (Sri Lanka Latest News)

He said that the legal actions that can be taken against the suspension of the electricity board employees who were involved in the protest against the sale of state property by reporting sick leave will also be discussed here and although they requested to discuss this with the minister, they were not allowed to do so.

Ranjan Jayalal also said that all the trade unions of the Electricity Board have met and started special discussions about the measures that can be taken to remove the suspension of the suspended employees.

Also, the government informed that the discussion regarding the mobilization of trade unions in all sectors of state, semi-state, estates, and private, against the suppression of trade unions and the sale of state property, will be held at the membership and peace centre located at 22 Maradana Deans Road. He also mentioned that several important decisions are to be taken regarding the repressive program.

Ranjan Jayalal said that the bill to sell the electricity board will never be allowed to be passed in the parliament and the support of all trade unions will be taken on Monday.
