Supreme Court Urges Immediate Amendments as People’s Rights Face Violation; Opposition Leader Sajith Calls for Postponement of Online Bill Debate Amidst Opposition from Internet Providers and International Entities I Sri Lanka Latest News

Mr Sajith Premadasa, the Leader of the Opposition, has written to the Speaker asking for the postponement of the debate on the Bill on the security of online systems.

In this letter, the leader of the opposition has requested the Speaker to give a reasonable time to come up with the related amendments due to the objections raised by many parties against this bill.

This draft is scheduled to be debated in Parliament on the 23rd and 24th.
