He has secured 31,307 votes in the 2020 parliamentary election representing Samagi Jana Balawega from Badulla district.
Making a special statement in Parliament today, Samagi Jana Balawega MP Chaminda Wijesiri announced that he has decided to resign from his position as a Member of Parliament.
He further said that he handed over the letter related to his resignation from the position of MP to the Secretary General of the Parliament.
