Medical professionals demand a thirty-five thousand rupees increase given to doctors! Trade Union action disrupts hospital operations! VIDEO I Sri Lanka Latest News

Medical Professionals Association announced today that they would launch a trade union action commencing today from 8 am onwards. This was stated by Mr Ravi kumudesh the President of the association. Sri Lanka Latest News Sri Lanka Latest News

The trade union has started the action demanding an allowance of 35000 rupees.

Professionals including laboratory workers, pharmacists, and radiologists of government hospitals have joined the union action.

Given the inconvenience caused to the patients, essential services including kidney hospitals, cancer hospitals, maternity hospitals and children’s hospitals are functioning as usual, he said.

Meanwhile, the cabinet approved yesterday (08) to raise the allowances of doctors and university lecturers.

According to the President’s Media Division, the duty interruption, attendance and transport allowance of doctors, which was Rs 35,000, has been increased to Rs 70,000.

The study allowance of university teachers has been increased by 25%. The President’s Media Unit added that the Cabinet has approved the proposal presented by the President to give the allowance along with the January salary.
