The President had recommended the name of Mr. C.D. Wickramaratne for the post of Inspector General of Police and sent it to the Legislative Assembly, but the Legislative Assembly which met yesterday has rejected the name for the second time. Sri Lanka Latest News
It is learned that the name has been rejected by the majority of the Legislative Assembly.
However, it is reported that the Constituent Assembly is scheduled to meet again next Monday to discuss notifying the President of this rejection.
Earlier too, when the President recommended the name of Mr. C.D Wickramaratne for the post of Inspector General of Police, the Constituent Assembly had taken steps to reject it.
But despite that refusal, the President appointed Mr C. D Wickramaratne as the Inspector General of Police again.
