The committee appointed to look into the incident between State Minister Diana Gamage and several members of Parliament is scheduled to meet today (06).Sri Lanka Latest News
Recently, there was a conflict between State Minister Diana Gamage and Samagi Janabalawela MPs Rohana Bandara and Sujith Sanjay Perera at the Parliament premises and Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena appointed a committee to look into the matter.
This committee was appointed under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Mr. Ajith Rajapakse and the CCTV footage of the Parliament related to the incident was also observed by the committee recently.
Accordingly, it is reported that the parties involved in this incident have been called before this committee today.
Matters are to be inquired from the relevant parties and then the conclusion of this is to be informed to the speaker.
So far, it has been decided to get the support of two women parliamentarians for this committee.
Accordingly, the members of Parliament Dr. Sudarshanee Fernandopulle and Mrs. Thalatha Athukorala are going to join this committee which will be held today.
Meanwhile, if any party is found guilty in the investigations conducted by this committee, they will lose their parliamentary seats for a period of three months.
