Speaking to the media, she further mentioned that 22 girls have become pregnant.
The Minister of State for Women and Children’s Affairs Geeta Kumarasinghe further stated:
“168 children under the age of 16 have been raped within a month from 01.09.2023 to 30.09.2023.”
“Among them, 22 children have already become pregnant. We are in a very unfortunate situation.”
