The Constituent Assembly which met yesterday (17) has decided not to approve the decision to give the Inspector General of Police C.D. Wickramaratne another 03 weeks service extension.
However, it is stated that President Ranil Wickramasinghe has taken steps to reinstate the Inspector General of Police by changing the decision taken by the Constitutional Council.
It is reported that President Ranil Wickramasinghe has received all the necessary orders from Beijing, China to implement the arrangements related to the re-appointment of the Inspector General of Police.
Inspector General of Police C.D Wickramaratne whose tenure had expired. Earlier, the President had taken steps to extend his service for another three weeks.
