This is that article;
“To all Members of Parliament,
Oppose the 30% tax bill which robs employee funds including EPF/ETF
We would like to draw your attention to the 30% tax bill which will rob employees’ funds including EPF/ETF to be passed by the government today.
These employee funds including EPF/ETF consist of contributions from employees and employers and the aim is to provide security to employees to spend their retirement properly after their service period ends. In particular, through this tax amendment act, the government directly robs the more than three million people working in the semi-public and private sectors who make direct contributions through active accounts, as well as more than two million other employees who are entitled to other employee funds, of the benefits they will receive in the future. By imposing an unfair 30% tax on this fund, the bill would deprive all working class workers of this country of future security.
Due to the increased cost of living as well as unfair tax burden, more than twelve hundred thousand working people have left the country in this period alone. Therefore, the working class, which has been severely affected by these unfairly imposed taxes, will no doubt fall further into the pan.
Moreover, we would like to remind all of you that you have been voted and appointed by the working people of this country. Therefore, we would like to request all MPs representing the working class, who are currently under pressure for various reasons, not to cast their vote in order to pass such unfair tax amendment bills and further oppress them.
Also, we would like to remind you that this fund will stand with the working class against robbery, and that you will definitely have to get the votes of the working class if you want to come to Parliament again.
