Side mirrors of former IGPs two vehicles parked outside the residence removed by rogues! I Sri Lanka Latest News

The Bambalapitiya Police has started an investigation regarding the removal of the side mirrors of two cars that were parked in front of the residence of the former Inspector General of Police and former Chairman of the National Police Commission Mr. Chandra Fernando on Udyana Road, Bambalapitiya. Sri Lanka Latest News

A senior officer of the Bambalapitiya Police said that these two vehicles belong to Mr. Chandra Fernando. The Bambalapitiya police state that the two vehicles were stopped near the police guardhouse established for the security of the house and that an officer is deployed for security duties at the guardhouse on a daily basis.

It is said that this theft took place in the morning of the 20th. An amateur police constable has been deployed for duty from 6.00 pm on the 19th to 6.00 am on the 20th and the officer who went to the cell to take over duty at 6.00 am on the 20th said that the amateur police constable who was deployed there the previous night was going to take over the duties there. and that there was no time.

When a complaint was received about the theft of the side mirrors of the two cars and an investigation was conducted, it was revealed that the officer assigned to duty the previous day was not present at the guardhouse. During the questioning of the concerned novice police constable, he said that he went to the barracks and slept at 5:00 am that morning. The investigation also revealed that the theft took place between 5:00 and 6:00 am on the 20th, when he was not at the guardhouse.
