Youth Journalists Association (YJA) executive committee member Uduwaragedara said yesterday that he will file a fundamental rights petition before the Supreme Court against the police and other relevant parties who ordered his arrest. .
“I was assaulted and arrested by the police when I had done nothing wrong, obviously at the behest of some political authority, and I have initiated every possible legal action against the actions of the police as well as those who referred them to the police. “We are currently discussing this with lawyers and a fundamental rights petition is expected to be filed soon,” Uduvaragedara said.
