The morning newspaper has reported that a fundamental rights petition will be filed before the Supreme Court against the police and related parties regarding the arrest of journalist Tharindu Uduwaragedara by the police in Borella on July 28. Sri Lanka Latest News

Youth Journalists Association (YJA) executive committee member Uduwaragedara said yesterday that he will file a fundamental rights petition before the Supreme Court against the police and other relevant parties who ordered his arrest. .

“I was assaulted and arrested by the police when I had done nothing wrong, obviously at the behest of some political authority, and I have initiated every possible legal action against the actions of the police as well as those who referred them to the police. “We are currently discussing this with lawyers and a fundamental rights petition is expected to be filed soon,” Uduvaragedara said.
