The husband and wife wanted for the murder of the millionaire businessman who owns a textile shop in Thalangama were arrested near a famous textile market in Kadawatha, said Chief Inspector Gamini Hewawitharana, OIC of Kandana Police.

The husband and wife wanted for the murder of the millionaire businessman who owns a textile shop in Thalangama were arrested near a famous textile market in Kadawatha, said Chief Inspector Gamini Hewawitharana, OIC of Kandana Police.

The businessman went missing on the 30th and his dead body was found two days later by the Thalangama police while floating in the swimming pool of his luxury three-storied house in Pelawatta MDH Pura.
After killing the businessman, the luxury car belonging to the businessman was taken away with mobile phones and wallet.
The couple was arrested based on a tip-off received by the Chief Inspector Gamini Hewa of Kandana Police while several teams including the Colombo Crime Division were conducting investigations to arrest the suspects in the relevant murder.
The suspect couple is to be handed over to the Crime Division for further questioning to find out the reason for killing the businessman.
