Even the right to vote, which is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution of the Government irrespective of caste, religion and caste, has been blocked by the current cabinet and even yesterday the cabinet has illegally decided to stop the acceptance of deposit related to the provincial council elections. The opposition leader said that the current executive and the cabinet are together and trampling on the fundamental rights of the people.
The opposition leader Mr. Sajith Premadasa said in Kataragama that although the decision had to be reversed in the controversy that arose in the society, the cabinet should apologize to the nation for this mistake and as a country should not do such perverse things and move forward with new technology. The opposition leader said this while donating a bus worth fifty lakh rupees to President Madhya Maha Vidyalaya through the 68th stage of Sakwala.
The opposition leader said that every child in this country will be given the mandate to own a computer with security measures to be taken and that the future of this country should be a knowledge-centered economy and for that there should be access to information, teaching and data.
Also, without the stories of a bankrupt country without provisions, without looking back, we were able to add a lot of value to education and health in this country based on our ability and efforts, and we did a lot of work for the people even from the opposition, without power, without ministerships, presidency, and Prime Minister Ships. The opposition leader said that he had the ability to walk the middle path by completely changing the role of the opposition and doing a great service for the people and he practically showed that he can serve the people even from the opposition.
And the opposition leader said that even though the people are asking for a group of people who can work, there are braggarts in this government and braggarts are also found in some parties in the opposition. That is to create an educated generation, a friendly youth and a generation of citizens with great personality.
The opposition leader said that it is not necessary to create a generation that will shake the dice and set the country on fire. Dollars are needed to recover from the current situation and it is the responsibility of the people to give power to the person who can bring that money. That is not resolved. The opposition leader further said that he and the Samagi Jana Balawega have the ability to provide the solution that the people are asking for.
The leader of the opposition said that when this program of providing buses was being implemented, some parties severely criticized it, but they should also be expected to provide help for such programs. But they do not do so.
Therefore, the leader of the opposition said that no matter who criticizes or slanders, this Sakwala program cannot be stopped and more than 250 other schools have requested for buses and even though the goal is difficult, it will be achieved anyway.
