The Attorney General informed the Court of Appeal that the Chinese national who was recently arrested by the Immigration and Emigration Department is a person who has a warrant for his arrest.
The Deputy Solicitor General, who appeared for the Attorney General, made the announcement when the writ petition filed by the concerned Chinese was called before the Court of Appeal today (29) requesting an order to prevent his extradition to China.
In the meantime, the lawyer representing the Chinese said that the relevant petition will be withdrawn.
