Deshapriya noted that abstaining from voting can enable certain leaders to govern unchecked, as they may feel less accountable to the public.
He also announced that starting today, a series of special awareness campaigns will be launched on social media to highlight the importance of voting and to encourage greater public participation in the electoral process.
