False Reports Denied: No Senior Members Leaving SJB Over UNP Alliance, Sources Confirm
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

It is reported that the reports that three strong members of the party are ready to leave the party if the UNP team including Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe is not included in the party are completely false.

Currently, a certain group is publishing a special news through various websites that if the UNP team including Mr. Ranil Wickramasinghe is gathered, SJB can win in the general election, and several seniors of SJB are making special efforts for that, and if it fails, those SJB seniors are preparing to leave the party. It was also reported.

But according to the information available to us, this news is completely false.

Also, from the information received by the government, it is said that Mr. Wickramasinghe has decided to take judicial action regarding the large-scale fraud and corruption that has occurred during the last 2 years of government, including the bond fraud.

Accordingly, the UNP team including Mr. Wickramasinghe had started negotiations to join forces with SJB to get cover to get rid of the related legal situations.

But in the meeting of the SJB Constituency Organizers held yesterday and the day before, and in the SJB Management Committee, a unanimous decision was taken that Mr. Wickramasinghe should first step down from the leadership of the party in order to start negotiations with the UNP.

However, after Mr. Wickramasinghe expressed his unwillingness to leave the leadership of the UNP, in the background of the failure of the talks, a group of people took steps to publish a news on several websites that if the UNP and the SJB do not join the SJB, three powerful economic figures have decided to leave the SJB.

This news was published on the same website that published false news from time to time saying that 20 MPs from SJB are coming to the government… 40 MPs from SJB are coming to the government.

We have collected all the false news published by these websites and we are ready to present them to the country for the knowledge of the people in the future.
