A fundamental rights petition has been submitted to the Supreme Court, requesting an order to halt Sri Lanka’s entry into an international debt restructuring agreement.
The petition was filed by Mr. Wasantha Mudalige, a member of the executive committee of the People’s Struggle Alliance.
In the petition, Mr. Mudalige argues that the ongoing economic crisis in Sri Lanka cannot be resolved through the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He further asserts his commitment to supporting and leading efforts aimed at disengaging the country from the IMF.
