The President, Prime Minister, and other politicians are expected to leave within 72 hours. If appropriate decisions are not made within 72 hours, the entire work force will be brought to the “aragalaya premises,” said Ravi Kumudesh, convener of the trade union Centre.
Despite having taken a decision to stage a strike and a ‘harthalaya’ from today as a responsible trade union to give time to the authorities, that was postponed to August 18th, he said.
The president and the acting president, Ranil Wickramasinghe, should both resign before August 18th, he warned. If not, the entire work force will be brought to the ‘araglaya’.
Therefore, the next 72 hours are very crucial to everyone, he stressed.
To muddle everything and garb the Presidency is Ranil’s ambition, he said.
If you can’t convince them, confuse them. That has been his moto, he stressed.
He must be practicing what he had read from the large quantity of books he was supposed to have had and Kumudesh also stressed that Ranil can not convince the people of this country that he is the President and Prime Minister but he has made that his prime objective in life.
