Former State Minister Dilum Amunugama has remarked that, despite Ranil Wickremesinghe’s previous pledge to raise public sector salaries ahead of the presidential election, such a move would have been unfeasible had he won, due to the country’s severe economic crisis.
Mr. Amunugama expressed confidence that current President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will avoid exacerbating the economic challenges by refraining from implementing a public sector salary increase.
