Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was arrested and remanded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and has been produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
The Colombo Additional Magistrate had previously ordered Yoshitha Rajapaksa, who was apprehended in the Beliatta area the day before yesterday, to be remanded until today (27).
Following this order, Yoshitha Rajapaksa was brought to court under the custody of prison officials.
Representing the prosecution in this case are Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris and a team of government lawyers.
