The meeting of the ruling party MPs group held in the Parliament under the chairmanship of the President has ended by now.

It was reported that none of the MPs in Pohottuwa requested the President to hold the local government elections.

In a press conference held in Pohottuwa yesterday, its Secretary General Mr. Sagara Kariyawasam stated that the election should be held properly and if it is not held, Pohottuwa will be the first to object, but it is learned that no one has commented on it in today’s group meeting.

Former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse also participated in this meeting.
