Former Minister and Member of Parliament Prof. G.L said that if elections are not held in the country, financial support cannot be expected from the International Monetary Fund.
The professor further said that the GSP plus privilege is not a right or a gift but is subject to certain conditions, said that the main condition is that democracy should be confirmed by the standard.
Ex-Minister G.L said, that although the staff level agreement data of the International Monetary Fund was not disclosed to the Parliamentary Finance Committee, the said data is in the possession of other persons. L. Mr. Peiris added further.
