A group of people have protested against a political meeting of the Northern Coalition held in Kandy.

The Kandy District Uttar Sabha political meeting was held today (13) at the Kandy Pushpadana Hall.

After the end of the relevant meeting, when the group of politicians including Mr. Wimal Weerawansa left the hall, a group of youths who were present at the place shouted and scolded them, and a heated situation arose between the two groups.

In the middle of the protest, although Mr. Wimal Weerawansa left the event hall with his bodyguards in a vehicle outside the event hall, it is known that Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Tissa Vitharana and others were unable to come out of the hall due to the hot unruly conditions inside the hall.

Vasudeva Nanayakkara and Tissa Vitharana got into their vehicles amid loud protests while the hot and tense situation between the two sides continued.

It is reported that the heated situation between the two sides lasted for about 15 minutes.
