The Nittambuwa Police say that a complaint was received this afternoon (25) about an incident where an apprentice lawyer working at the Attanagalla Magistrate’s Court was escorted from the court to Kalagedihena area and assaulted by five people including female lawyers amidst many onlookers Sri Lanka Latest News
The police say that the person who was attacked was a young lawyer residing in Nittambuwa area.
It has been revealed in preliminary police investigations that the plaintiff lawyer had been working under a senior lawyer for some time and later they were working separately and a few days ago an argument took place between them due to a personal dispute.
It has also been revealed that two female lawyers and the husband of one female lawyer went to the house of the junior lawyer and threatened his father on the same day.
The complaint states that the same evening, while the junior lawyer was working in the court, a lawyer working in another court came and took him away in his car.
