Wanindu Hasaranga Resigns From T20I Captaincy

The Sri Lanka Cricket in a statement announced that National Men’s T20I Captain Wanindu Hasaranga has decided to resign from the captaincy.

According to Sri Lanka Cricket, Wanindu Hasaranga said it is in the best interest of Sri Lanka Cricket that he decided to relinquish the captaincy duties and remain in the side as a player.

Wanindu Hasaranga in his resignation letter said that Sri Lanka will always have his utmost best efforts as a player, and vouched to continue his support and stand by his team and leadership as always. 

Sri Lanka Cricket, while accepting his resignation, said that Hasaranga will remain an important player for the team in their international cricketing plans.
