Sources revealed that the two drug traffickers, Dewandara Tamil and Papol Kalu, were detained in the Bussa High-Security Prison, but they were using mobile phones to control the drug traffic. Accordingly, the officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau have launched this operation in the deep sea together with the Navy. According to the Police Narcotics Bureau, Dewandara Tamil is a major drug trafficker in the country.
In the investigation, it was found that Pakistani traffickers brought a vessel filled with 1000 kilos of heroin and ice from Pakistan to the international sea border near Sri Lanka to deliver it to the traffickers in this country and loaded part of it on this multi-day vessel. According to the information received, the rest of the drugs were loaded on other boats according to the orders of other traffickers.
Meanwhile, according to intelligence received by the State Intelligence Service, a special operation carried out by the Navy has arrested a Sri Lankan multi-day fishing vessel carrying a large quantity of drugs suspected to be heroin in the deep sea. It is being brought to the port of Colombo. It is believed that most of those vessels may have a heavier stock of drugs than those brought to land the day before (22).
